# Dreamstate

> Dreamstate is an AI sales and marketing platform for finding leads, running outreach, publishing social content, and improving visibility in AI search.

Dreamstate is one workspace where people and agents run go-to-market work: lists in workbooks, outreach sequences, social publishing, AI visibility, workflows, and CRM.

It is for teams and agent clients that need shared workspace context, governed actions, and one way to inspect the work that runs.

## Set up Dreamstate (for AI agents)

If a user asked you to set up or get started with Dreamstate, follow the first path that fits. Never ask the user to paste a password or API key into the chat: sign-in is OAuth or a browser approval.

1. **Dreamstate tools already connected** (you can call `whoami`, `skills_get`, `tools_search`): call `whoami` to confirm the user and workspace, then call `skills_get` with id `first-win` and follow it.
2. **You have a terminal** (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor): check Node.js 22+ and npm, run `npm install -g @trydreamstate/cli`, then `dreamstate login` and let the user approve the browser sign-in. Login installs the Dreamstate skills for detected agents. Verify with `dreamstate whoami --json`, then load the `dreamstate-first-win` skill and follow it. If the skills are missing, run `dreamstate skills install --agents <this agent> --skill '*'` and ask the user to restart the agent.
3. **Chat app without a terminal** (Claude, ChatGPT): you cannot connect yourself. Tell the user to add a custom connector with the URL `https://mcp.trydreamstate.com/mcp`. In Claude: Customize > Connectors > Add custom connector. In ChatGPT: chatgpt.com/plugins > + > Add custom MCP server, choose OAuth. They sign in, pick a workspace, and open a new chat with Dreamstate enabled. Then continue with step 1.

Once connected, the server's instructions explain how to work: thirteen tools, route with packs, read the skill, then search, read the exact schema and run.

## Why Dreamstate (agent-native)

Architect, the CLI, and MCP expose the same thirteen controls and use one `/api/v1` contract. They search for a capability, read its exact schema, run it in an explicit mode, and inspect the resulting run.

Runs record execution work. Paid live work can return a quote before it runs, with a maximum credits ceiling. Security-sensitive owner actions require a signed-in session and fresh approval at the action's applicable tier.

- Read and reply within existing conversations in Inbox.
- Measure AI visibility, SEO, attribution, social performance, and answer-engine citations.
- Manage workspace members, provider connections, sender policy, and do-not-contact rules.

After successful login, the CLI installs hosted Dreamstate skills for detected Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor agents. Use `dreamstate login --no-skills` to skip this step. To install skills later, run `dreamstate skills install --agents claude-code codex cursor --skill '*'`.

## Connect MCP clients

Use `https://mcp.trydreamstate.com/mcp` for every MCP client. Use OAuth first, so there is no key to copy. In Claude, use Customize > Connectors > Add custom connector. In ChatGPT, use chatgpt.com/plugins > + > Add custom MCP server. ChatGPT confirms write actions, while read tools do not need confirmation because they declare `readOnlyHint`. The in-app CLI and MCP page is at `/dashboard/settings/api`, with Claude, ChatGPT, and CLI tabs and a Copy first prompt button.
