Connect ChatGPT

Connect ChatGPT to Dreamstate MCP through a custom connector.

Connect ChatGPT to Dreamstate so ChatGPT can work with the selected Dreamstate workspace. Dreamstate uses OAuth, so you do not need a key.

Once connected, you can ask ChatGPT to:

Build a scored lead list in a workbook.
Enrich workbook rows with work emails.
Draft and launch a sequence.
Schedule a LinkedIn post.
Check AI visibility or read why a run failed.

Before you start

You need a Dreamstate workspace. A managed ChatGPT workspace may control custom MCP server access.

Step-by-step setup

Open plugins
Open chatgpt.com/plugins, then select + and Add custom MCP server.

Create Dreamstate
Enter Name: Dreamstate and URL: https://mcp.trydreamstate.com/mcp. Choose OAuth, review the warning, select I understand and want to continue, then select Create as a plugin.

Sign in
Sign in to Dreamstate and pick a workspace.

Authenticate with Dreamstate

ChatGPT opens the Dreamstate sign-in flow. Sign in and pick a workspace, then return to ChatGPT.

Test the connection

Run whoami and tell me which Dreamstate workspace you are connected to.

If it returns your workspace name, setup is complete.

For team or organization setups

Some older Enterprise and Edu workspaces use Settings > Apps > Advanced settings > Developer mode instead. A workspace administrator may control access. After Dreamstate ships new tools, open the connection and select Refresh.

When it goes wrong

I do not see the custom MCP server option. Open chatgpt.com/plugins. In an older Enterprise or Edu workspace, turn on Developer mode under Settings > Apps > Advanced settings.
The sign-in window opened but nothing happens. Start OAuth again from the Dreamstate app in ChatGPT, finish sign-in in the browser, and return to the same conversation. A redirect refused error means the flow must start from ChatGPT.
ChatGPT cannot find Dreamstate tools. Open the Dreamstate connection and select Refresh.
It connected to the wrong workspace. Run whoami, then reconnect and pick the intended workspace. A 401 Missing Bearer response means that OAuth sign-in must be completed again.

Best practices

Test the connection immediately with whoami.
Open the connection and select Refresh after Dreamstate ships new tools.
ChatGPT confirms write actions. Read tools do not need confirmation.
