Connect Claude Code

Connect Claude Code to Dreamstate MCP from the terminal.

Connect Claude Code to Dreamstate so Claude Code can work with the selected Dreamstate workspace. Dreamstate uses OAuth, so you do not need a key.

Once connected, you can ask Claude Code to:

  • Build a scored lead list in a workbook.
  • Enrich workbook rows with work emails.
  • Draft and launch a sequence.
  • Schedule a LinkedIn post.
  • Check AI visibility or read why a run failed.

Before you start

You need a Dreamstate workspace and Claude Code with remote HTTP MCP server support.

Step-by-step setup

  1. 1

    Open a terminal

Open the terminal where the claude command is available.
  2. 2

    Add Dreamstate

Run the command below. It registers a remote HTTP server named dreamstate.
  3. 3

    Open MCP controls

Start Claude Code, then type /mcp to see the active MCP servers and authenticate Dreamstate.
claude mcp add --transport http dreamstate https://mcp.trydreamstate.com/mcp

Authenticate with Dreamstate

Claude Code opens the Dreamstate sign-in flow. Sign in and pick a workspace, then return to Claude Code.

Test the connection

Run whoami and tell me which Dreamstate workspace you are connected to.

If it returns your workspace name, setup is complete.

What to do next

Read Quickstart, MCP reference, or Your first session.

When it goes wrong

  • I do not see Dreamstate in MCP controls. Run the add command again, then type /mcp and confirm that dreamstate is listed.
  • The sign-in window opened but nothing happens. Run /mcp and authenticate again from the same local Claude Code session. A redirect refused error means the browser flow must start from that local client.
  • Claude Code cannot find Dreamstate tools. Use /mcp to confirm that the dreamstate server is active for this session.
  • It connected to the wrong workspace. Run whoami, then authenticate again and pick the intended workspace. A 401 Missing Bearer response means that OAuth sign-in must be completed again.

Best practices

  • Test the connection immediately with whoami.
  • Use /mcp to confirm Dreamstate is active before a new task.
  • Read tools do not need confirmation.
