Other MCP clients
Connect another MCP client to Dreamstate with OAuth or an API key header.
Connect another MCP client to Dreamstate so it can work with the selected Dreamstate workspace. OAuth is first, so you do not need a key when the client supports OAuth.
Once connected, you can ask the client to:
- Build a scored lead list in a workbook.
- Enrich workbook rows with work emails.
- Draft and launch a sequence.
- Schedule a LinkedIn post.
- Check AI visibility or read why a run failed.
Before you start
You need a Dreamstate workspace and a remote HTTP MCP server setting. OAuth clients need public-client OAuth with Dynamic Client Registration, Client ID Metadata Documents, and PKCE S256. A client without OAuth needs a secure setting for an Authorization bearer header.
Step-by-step setup
- 1
Add a remote MCP server
Open your client's custom, remote, or HTTP MCP server setting. The menu name differs by client. - 2
Enter Dreamstate
SetName: DreamstateandRemote MCP server URL: https://mcp.trydreamstate.com/mcp. Do not add another path or query parameter. - 3
Choose authentication
Choose OAuth when the client offers it. Use a workspace machine key only for CI or a client without OAuth, then configure the bearer header below in the client's secure credential setting.
https://mcp.trydreamstate.com/mcpAuthenticate with Dreamstate
For OAuth, the client opens the Dreamstate sign-in flow. Sign in and pick a workspace, then return to the client. Dreamstate publishes OAuth discovery at /.well-known/oauth-protected-resource/mcp and /.well-known/oauth-authorization-server. If the client cannot complete OAuth, use a workspace machine key only for CI or that client.
Test the connection
If it returns your workspace name, setup is complete.
What to do next
Read Quickstart, MCP reference, or Your first session.
When it goes wrong
- I do not see an MCP option. Look for a custom, remote, or HTTP MCP server setting in the client. If it has no remote MCP support, it cannot connect to Dreamstate this way.
- The sign-in window opened but nothing happens. Start the OAuth flow again from the client, finish sign-in in the browser, and return to that client. If its callback is not supported, use a workspace machine key only for CI or that client.
- The client cannot find Dreamstate tools. Confirm the server is connected and enable it for the active conversation or session if the client requires that step.
- It connected to the wrong workspace. Run
whoami, then reconnect and pick the intended workspace. A401 Missing Bearerresponse means that OAuth sign-in must be completed again or a workspace machine key is missing.
Best practices
- Test the connection immediately with
whoami. - Enable Dreamstate for each conversation where the client requires it.
- Read tools do not need confirmation.
